Snow Abu Dhabi is a newly opened sub-zero indoor park located in Reem Mall, operated by Majid Al Futtaim – the same operator behind Ski Dubai, Ski Egypt and Snow Oman.
This new attraction spreads over 9,732 square metres and consists of 20 rides and three food and beverages outlets. Snow Abu Dhabi is inspired by a whimsical enchanted forest, with a large, enchanted tree as the park’s centrepiece.
The lobby, often referred to as the “warm side”, creates an illusion of being inside the trunk of a cosy enchanted tree. This is also where you can find several ticketing kiosks, lockers, changing rooms, souvenir shops and a photo counter. On the other hand, the “cold side” is towards the other end of the entrance, with a theme similar to Narnia – a magical land created by author CS Lewis and portrays a portal to a new world. Guests are required to wear winter gear as the temperature dips to -2°C. It is also important to note that unlike Ski Dubai, Snow Abu Dhabi does not provide any skiing experience.
There are different packages for Snow Abu Dhabi and all of them gives unlimited access to all the rides. A regular ticket costs AED 215 per person for a single-day entry, a pair of fleece gloves and a locker. There is also an option for a two-day pass which will be for AED 295. A premium ticket costs AED 295, with additional inclusions such as waterproof gloves, hot chocolate and a meal at The Lodge. Groups or families of five can receive a discount of AED 860, instead of paying AED 1,075. Annual pass is also available for AED 795 per person.
The theme park operates from 10AM – 10PM on Sundays to Thursdays and 10AM to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
What it means for Al Reem Island
For the past years, Al Reem Island has been home for many Abu Dhabi residents with its close proximity to the city centre, easy access to Saadiyat Island, Yas Island and Dubai and many schools, hospitals, malls and parks are just within the vicinity. We expect more foot traffic around the area, with visitors coming from other emirates and other countries. Consequently, real estate activity in Al Reem Island is expected to slightly improve.
