Aldar Properties has revealed Saadiyat Grove, a mixed-use luxury district taking shape on Saadiyat Island, with doors opening in the final quarter of this year.
The development sits in the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District, framed by three of the emirate’s landmark institutions — Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum and the forthcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi — and blends shopping, dining, hospitality, homes and workspace into a single destination.
On the retail side, more than 100 international names are lined up, among them Audemars Piguet, Brunello Cucinelli, Bvlgari, Cartier, Dior, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Valentino, alongside Japanese lifestyle retailer Beams. Roughly 20 of the concepts will be making their regional debut.
The food and beverage line-up is similarly ambitious. David Chang’s Momofuku group is joining, as are Alain Ducasse Café, the French brasserie Monsieur Paul and Kokoro Handroll Bar. Abu Dhabi will also get its first Time Out Market, bringing 16 kitchens under one roof, while the neighbouring Louvre Residences will host Barrafina and Gymkhana, among others.
More than 1,000 homes across three branded projects — Louvre Abu Dhabi Residences, Baccarat Residences Saadiyat and The Arthouse — are due to be handed over in the coming months.
For business occupiers, the district offers 25,000 square metres of Grade-A office space spread over four buildings linked to a luxury hotel, plus a 2,200 sq m executive club with private offices and boardrooms. Other components include the 7,000 sq m Saadiyat Forum, a culture and hospitality venue with its own cinema; a 2,000 sq m fitness club run by Anthony Joshua-backed BXR; and a wellness centre paired with a longevity clinic.
Aldar chairman Mohamed Al Mubarak framed the project as key to establishing Saadiyat Island, and Abu Dhabi as a whole, as a leading global hub for culture-led living, tourism and investment. Group chief executive Talal Al Dhiyebi said the scheme would turn luxury retail into a meaningful new pillar of the emirate’s economy.
The company expects the district to draw private-sector capital, lift visitor spending and generate jobs.
